Russian presidential spox: State firms not to bid for Bashneft

MOSCOW, Jul 22 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft and other state companies will not participate in privatization of oil company Bashneft, spokesman for the president Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday.

“There is understanding that state companies will not be able to participate, and indeed we have discussed it, the understanding is both in the government and in the presidential administration,” Peskov said.

The official added that there has been no formal order to prohibit state companies to buy stakes during privatization.
